Blackness

Separated in my soul,
Far to its inner depths
Worlds cease to exist.
Blackness is all that is left.

The turmoil and pain,
overbearing it seems.
Turn to the blackness,
Remains a few dreams.

Far deep within,
Reach, no one dare
Tis my place alone
One I will not share.

Just float the calm
No thought or care.
The numbness surrounds
Totally unaware.

Stay here it says.
Don’t go back.
Pain will return,
In a brutal attack.

Remain in the darkness
Safe, it is here,
If you go back,
You will only shed tears.

Stay here forever.
I will keep you warm.
Hold you and comfort,
Through the thick of the storm.

Oh but I wish,
Forever here to stay.
Have to go back
Push the fears away.

Have to face the present,
Have to face the past.
Must be strong and wise.
If my soul is to last.

I must say goodbye,
But know you still remain.
If I fail out here,
It is you I have to gain.

Tho I say goodbye,
In my soul you stay.
No matter what I do,
You will never go away.

Comfort is what you are
You are the inner me.
You calm the storms of all,
Till my pathway, I can see.
